Well the walk was a success - albeit wet! It was well attended and we made and exceeded our goal! The event’s goal was to reach $63,000. In the end, $83,000 was raised to defeat ALS. Our team, Akhil’s Angels, raised $11,500 and all of you were a part of that. Hopefully next year we can beat that. Instead of talking about it, I thought it would be interesting to tell you the story with pictures. You were part of our team: Akhil’s Angels! Even though it wasn’t a competition we were the top team in fundraising! Because we were the top team we got to cut the ribbon and carry the banner as we walked to defeat ALS. My family joined me as well as some close friends.

I had a personal goal to physically walk across the finish line. I was apprehensive because there were many people watching. There was even a news crew there to tape the whole event.

So I took a deep breath, and just went for it! As you can tell from the pictures, I made it! It was a glorious moment! The coolest part was having my daughter Corinne on my left and Laura on my right.

Together we made it and that’s how I plan on making it through this disease : Together.

The video is Akhil's journey with ALS.  Painful to see but the faith his family shows is uplifting.

God continues to show his love for us through his people.  Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us, prayed for us, visited Akhil, brought us a meal and served us however God led you to serve.  Continue to follow those urgings from God in serving those who are struggling.
