A Key to a Wonderful Life

What is the key to a wonderful life?  Some think it is having a powerful position or a lot of wealth.  I contend that one of the keys to a wonderful life is embracing change.

Change can be paralyzing.  Many dread change and face it with fear and trepidation.  I chose to embrace it my entire life.  That attitude led me to say “yes” to whatever adventure God put before me, from marrying a white girl to changing jobs every couple of years!

I lived a full life before ALS hit.  I was not “waiting for someday” to make things happen.  I lived in the moment and lived it to the fullest.  That is a key to a wonderful life!  A life with minimal regrets, no missed opportunities and no “wishing I would have” because I DID!  If you are a person who feels you don’t have a wonderful life today, I encourage you to start embracing change.  Feel the exhilaration in trying something new.

For my birthday, my girls put together a skit telling my life’s story.  You can get a feel for all the changes my wife and I went through.

If you are a person who doesn’t take chances and who fears change, I hope this skit will give you the courage to just say “yes” to one adventure that is put before you.  Seeing my life’s adventures made me laugh and I hope they will make you laugh too.

The video is Akhil's journey with ALS.  Painful to see but the faith his family shows is uplifting.

God continues to show his love for us through his people.  Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us, prayed for us, visited Akhil, brought us a meal and served us however God led you to serve.  Continue to follow those urgings from God in serving those who are struggling.
